Amazon oil

US oil company Chevron will appeal against an $8.6 billion fine charged by Ecuator judges, enduring a long term controversy over pollution. Chevron also said this case was a fraud and accused the Ecuater's government of polluting this country's amazon region . The legal argument has been going on for 18 years and has created disputes in the US and Ecuator. And analysts say it is not likely to be over. The oil entreprise Texaco, wich was bought by Chevron , is accused of unloading billions of gallons of toxic waist into Amazon rivers between 1972 and 1992. Locals say that animals were killed, harvests were damaged and that cancer rates increased. But Texaco spent more than $40m on cleaning that area in the 90's and signed an agreement leaving all responsability to Ecuator government. In other words, Chevron is determined that it will not pay the sky high fine, but someone will have to clean the mess the toxic waists left on the amazon territory. So in the end, who's going to pay the bill ?

People together will stand forever.

Egypt, the most populous country in the arab world, bursted in group protests in January 2011 as the revolution in tunisia seemed to increase hardship against the rule of president Hosni Mubarak. After 18 days of inflamed protest, Mubarak finally decided to renounce his president title after 30 years of absolute rule. When announced, it caused great exitement and celebration while protesters shouted "Egypt is free!".It was a great triumph for the egyptian population after three weeks of wait, because Mr. Mubarak would not consider reelection and refused to "step down".His government appeared to be trying to endure the protesters by offering reform plans that consisted of slight adjustments. But after resisting to armed goverment supporters, the protesters managed to keep the movement going. The military then signaled  that they would have to interfere to "protect the nation".Resulting in more than 300 people killed . Despite the governement threaths to use use force and the proceeding dangers, the people of egypt showed us that when people unite ,changes do happen.
