Copiapo, Chile. August 5th. A mine collapses with 33 miners inside. Three months afterwards, they are finally out. No one has ever been trapped so long and survived. They are inspiring for the whole world. Chile's heroes, that's what they are.
Welcome to life. Those were the words that President Sebastian Pinera told the 15th miner out, Victor Segvia. Those Chilean miners were trapped nearly 700m underground, for almost three months. Probably the toughest ones of their lives. The first one out was Florencio Alvaros who looked very happy to be out as he hugged, in tears, his 7 year old son, his wife and the President.
So the quest continued, one was out, now thirty-two to go. One by one, the miners were pulled up to freedom. The operation went marvelously well, much faster than expected.
After a long wait, the last of the miners came out safe and sound. "We have done what the entire world was waiting for" he said. But probably no one has asked themslves ; What will those miners become ? Will they have to protect themselfes from the sun due to so much time in the darkness ? Will their lifes ever be the same ?
Well readers, these are the questions I'm asking myself. What do you think ?
