Social Network

Social networks are more and more popular our days. My mom often says "When I was young..."  and well,  you know the rest. But nowadays, things have changed. People all over the world are at this moment are on twitter, facebook, etc, etc. Now the question is : "Is it always true what people say on these networks ?".
For example, hockey coach Pat Burns woke up one morning only to see a story of his death on the front cover. After TSN (the sports network) tweeted that Burns had died, other media outlets "jumped" on the occasion and in less than an hour, hundreds of tweets were sent saying that Pat was dead. It wasn't until coach Burns spoke himself with TNS that the case was set staight. I'm guessing that when twitter's creator Jack Dorsey invented this wonderfull site, he didin't think of that. But, twitter isin't necessarily a bad thing. You just have to know that you shouldn't start false rumors. So bloggers, do you think it's a bad thing ?

9/11 Retrospective.

September 11th  2001, 8:46. A flight from Boston to Los Angeles was veered off course right into one of the twin towers of world trade center. Not much after that, another plane crashed into the second twin tower. Everybody around the world heard about this terrible story the next morning in the newspapers. The government said, right after it happened, that it was an attack from the terrorist group Al-Qaeda who's dreadful leader was Osama Bin Laden. But, some also said that it was a plot from the government. Whatever the case, thousands of people died that day. And all that where there and did not perish, remembered that day for the rest for the rest of their lifes. Lots of researches were done, but no one ever knew the real cause of the crashes. Who's fault was it ? That was a mistery to all...

"Welcome to life".

Copiapo, Chile. August 5th. A mine collapses with 33 miners inside. Three months afterwards, they are finally out. No one has ever been trapped so long and survived. They are inspiring for the whole world. Chile's heroes, that's what they are.

Welcome to life. Those were the words that President Sebastian Pinera told the 15th miner out, Victor Segvia. Those Chilean miners were trapped nearly 700m underground, for almost three months. Probably the toughest ones of their lives. The first one out was Florencio Alvaros who looked very happy to be out as he hugged, in tears, his 7 year old son, his wife and the President.

So the quest continued, one was out, now thirty-two to go. One by one, the miners were pulled up to freedom. The operation went marvelously well, much faster than expected.
After a long wait, the last of the miners came out safe and sound. "We have done what the entire world was waiting for" he said. But probably no one has asked themslves ; What will those miners become ? Will they have to protect themselfes from the sun due to so much time in the darkness ? Will their lifes ever be the same ?

Well readers, these are the questions I'm asking myself. What do you think ?

Hear all about it

Hello people. My name is Nicole (that would be the reason of my nickname, Nicouille) and though I might be young, I have a lot to say. What I like to do in life, except being a wonderful, wonderful person, is soccer, volley-ball and all sorts of other stuff like being silly. So, now that you know more about me, let me tell you about my blog.

The universe listens. This was originally meant to be the title of a music blog. But after a peanut butter and pancake late breakfast and some brainstorming with my family, I decided to change my mind.
Why might one ask? Was it the delicious butter melting away my senses as the members of my rowdy family were shouting out their ideas like “passion for fashion” or “gossip girl?” Or maybe it was my own hesitancy because after a post on Lady Gaga’s Alejandro, I would be out of ideas.

The deciding point finally came when my older sister showed me a website of a graffiti artist named Banksy ( for those who don’t know what graffiti is , it’s drawings, words and scribbles on walls, any five year old’s dream). His art really shocked me for it showed me things happening all over, that had never even crossed my mind. So, I decided my subject would be current events, things happening around the world, which let us think about other things than ourselves. So, dear unknown bloggers, I hope you will enjoy giving your opinion as much as I on this blog.
